Shillelagh N.S. is a co-educational, Church of Ireland school under the patronage of the Bishop of Cashel, Ferns and Ossory.
The school caters for boys and girls from Junior Infants to Sixth Class.
Shillelagh National School is a three teacher school including a shared SET post. The school also has a part-time secretary and SNA. There are 38 children currently one role.
